Trinidad and Tobago, officially the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is a sovereign island state of the Caribbean situated off the northeast coast of Venezuela and South of Granada in the Lesser Antilles. It has a maritime border with Barbados to the northeast, Guyana to the southeast, and Venezuela to the South and west. It is located at the confluence of the Caribbean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. The country has an area of 5 128 km² and consists of the islands of Trinidad, Tobago and numerous islanders. The island. Of Trinidad is the largest and most populated, representing 94% of the total area and 96% of the total population. The two islands are of tropical climate and mountainous terrai. Its location allows you to avoid the so-called “Waist of Hurricanes”, a region prone to the occurence of the phenomenon in the Caribbean. The main city on the island of Trinidad is the capital of the country, Port of Spain while the main town of the island of Tobago is Scarborough. With more than one milion inhabitants, Trinidad and Tobago is the country with the second largest English-speaking population in the region, after Jamaica.
