"SAMARA (RUS) – The 50th WMC Swimming took came to an end, yesterday, August 22, in Samara, with the cultural day during which the CISM delegates attended a wreath laying ceremony in honour of the Russian National Flag Day, the Gift Exchange and the Closing Ceremony of the event. The following personalities attended the Closing Ceremony: the Official CISM Representative for the this event, CISM VP Americas and Member of the Board of Directors, Colonel Walter Jander – the Head of the Directorate for physical training and sport of the Armed Forces of the Russian Delegation and Head of Delegation of Russia to CISM, Colonel Oleg Botsman – Lieutenant-Colonel Heiko Wömpener, PCSC Swimming and Lifesaving – the Head of CSKA and PCSC Climbing, Colonel Artem Gromov – the Acting Minister of Sport of the Samara region Dmitry Shlahtin– as well as other local and international high authorities, sports master and local fans."
"In his closing speech, the Colonel Walter Jander warmly thanked the CSKA, the Russian Delegation to CISM, the Russian Armed Forces, the city of Samara and the Organizing Committee for all the work they achieved toward the organization of this excellent event! The conditions of competition were perfect, and the 173 athletes will bring back nice memories to their countries. Colonel Jander also highlighted the Russian tradition of hosting several CISM events every year and thanked the Russian delegation for their contribution to the CISM activities."
"During this Closing Ceremony, the CISM OCR Colonel Walter Jander awarded the CISM Order of Merit to 4 high authorities in recognition of their devotion to the cause of sports and to the ideals of CISM: the Acting Minister of Sport of the Samara region Dmitry Shlahtin, the Deputy Head of the CSKA for sporting activities Lieutenant-Colonel Oleg Parkhomenko, the CSC Swimming Member Major Guilherme Faria da Silva and the Director of the Sports School of the Olympic reserve of the CSKA (Swimming and Diving) Mansur Bikmurzin."
"Before Colonel Jander officially closed the event, the CISM Flag was handed over to Colonel Hu Chunli from the Chinese delegation as China will be the host of the next WMC Swimming that will be held during the 7th CISM World Summer Games 2019 in Wuhan.
