The World Judo Day

On October 28th World Judo Day was celebrated. Today's post aims to make you, the reader, know a little about this event and know the purpose of it! I'm sure that just like me, you will also like this post.

Well, let's begin ... It was chosen on October 28th because of Jigoro Kano's birthday, he was the founder of Judo and also responsible for the Jujitsu reforms. In 2011 was celebrated the first year of World Judo Day, the International Judo Federation was responsible for the creation of this date. Every year the IJF chooses a theme to be dealt with that year, in the first edition of World Judo Day was chosen the theme Respect, to have notion of respect is very strong for any judoka. The peaceful confrontation in Judo can’t occur without mutual respect!

The goal of this day is to promote a global awareness of the values of judo and its educational system for all judo clubs and all judokas. With this event, the IJF also wants to bring the people who make judo to stay alive every day around the world!

One of the symbols chosen for that day is the bow. It represents respect, it is the bow that opens a judo session, closes between the two, "mutual help and prosperity" and "optimal use of energy" become possible.

The post of this week is over, but if you liked this subject and want to know more about World Judo Day, just go to the International Judo Federation website and you will stay in all the previous editions of this event and you will know one little more it.
