Today start the most important competition in the football world. The World Cup means a lot to everyone. Even in the countries that are not classified, take care about it. There is something more beautiful that the whole world together watching a match. Even in their different time zones, all are at the same time waiting for the whistle to confirm that the Cup has begun.
Can wait to feel again the energy that this event brings us. Is something so memorable! At the same time, is sad to realize that is the one of the few moments that our planet is together for something bigger than his own business. However, let’s not talk about sad things! Let´s talk about the moment that we are waiting for.
Thirty-two national teams that can be the world champion. Great title, right? The last champion, in the Cup that happened in Brazil in 2014, is the powerful Germany. Before, in 2010, was the traditional Spain. People say that are seven favorite to win and they are: Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
Brazil, France, Germany and Spain are the traditional teams that every cup we must pay attention. Argentina and Portugal are the teams that have a chance because they have the hugest stars in the actual football. Belgium? Probably is that surprise of this cup. Wondrously, Belgium went until the round of 16 finals of the EuroCup 2016.
On this Friday the 15th, we will have the first big game, Portugal face Spain. There is a great chance that already in the round of 16, Brazil, Germany, Argentina and France will face each other (I hope that doesn’t happen).
This is also a moment to enjoy and learn about others cultures and learn different words and curiosities. For example, you knew that the anthem of France was a stimulus to encourage soldiers in frontier fighting. And, even more interestingly, the anthem of Spain has no lyrics. The Marcha Realis only instrumental.
World Cup is a great moment to learn about history of world. Everybody knows about that big two wars that Russia face it, and is a much-reserved country, so now it is being opened to an event in this magnitude is something to celebrate. It means that the world is changing, even to traditional countries.
So, let’s enjoy this World Cup, but let’s not forget that has the CISM World Football Championship in July. Really is a football time!!
